Make sure your Business is in compliance by posting new "NO SMOKING" Signs

In order to be in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations employers are required to post mandated posters in a conspicuous, convenient place to assure that employees and applicants are made more fully aware of their rights.

Posters required by Federal law to be posted in each worksite Include:
- Equal Employment Opportunity
- Family Medical Leave Act (employers with 50 or more employees)
- Federal Minimum Wage
- Job Safety and Health (OSHA)
- Polygraph Protection Act
- Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act .

The State of Montana requires:
- Proof of unemployment Insurance Coverage (issued by certifying agency)
- Proof of Workers’ Compensation Coverage. (Issued by certifying agency) .

As a result of passage of House Bill 643 during the 2005 legislative session All public schools and establishments where the public is free to enter will be required to post a No Smoking Notice indicating that smoking is not allowed on the premises effective October 1, 2005. .

The exception to this new policy will be establishments “that are devoted to serving alcoholic beverages for consumption by guests or patrons on the premises and in which the serving of food is only incidental to the service of alcoholic beverages or gaming operations including but not limited to taverns, night clubs, cocktail lounges, and casinos.” These businesses will have until September 30, 2009 before the policy will take affect. .

Required Federal Posters and the new No Smoking Notice can be obtained from the Great Falls Job Service Workforce Center. .
