Great
Falls
Where the Beauty and History of
the West come together for adventure
When Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set out with their Corps of Discovery in 1804, they had no idea the “great falls of the Missouri” would prove to be one of the most challenging and beautiful parts of their historic journey. The windswept prairies they portaged and recorded in their journals remain as “splendid and beautiful” 200 years later.

Enjoy that breathless beauty many ways. Bike the scenic River’s Edge Trail, picnic in a city park, stroll through vibrant flower gardens in Gibson Park, boat or fish the Missouri River. Great Falls offers a landscape richly blessed by nature.
It is also a place steeped in history. At the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center, relive the Corps of Discovery’s epic journey. From Ulm Pishkun Buffalo Jump, view the prairies that once teemed with bison, and stop in the state park’s visitor center to learn about the Native people who made this land their home for centuries. Through the eyes of America’s “cowboy artist” Charlie Russell, trace the history of cowboys and the open range at the C.M. Russell Museum.
It’s all here – the ultimate Western experience!
